This Sunday, our pastor spoke about the famous “Sermon on the Mount” as expressed in Matthew 5 of the Holy Bible.
If you’re not religious, don’t worry. This isn’t going to be a sermon. Bear with this for just a moment.
There’s this part I thought was priceless…
Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Matthew 5:11 ESV
The point isn’t lost on me that when I observed our Canadian truckers driving across Canada during the 2022 Freedom Convoy, I hadn’t felt that much national pride in ages. And, even before those patriots arrived at our nation’s capital, the man at the head of the Canadian government was reviling these truckers, and uttering all kinds of evil against them.
Just a few months after all that, I attended my first protest EVER. Right here in Victoria, BC, Canada…. Check out this clip.
This whole past few years has finally rocked me out of a comforting lull. I have begun to take action in my life and my businesses to begin engaging in democracy here in Canada.
When these tyrants and bullies (that’s exactly what the establishment political tier has proven themselves to be, in my books) don’t have opposition, they run rampant and even if they believe they are trying to make things better, I can assuredly and measurably disagree.
It’s time to say no. It’s time to stand up to bullies. And, the whole purpose of SnailMailPatriot.com is exactly that… to take sheepish wimps like me and give me a voice, and find everyone else out there who has been on the side lines and give them a cheap tool to get their voice heard. Even if that message is, “I am not happy with the way things are going, ” or, “I am opposed to (fill in the blank),”, or most importantly, “I am watching your actions and taking note because we are likely to have an election soon and if you want to count on my support, you will stand in opposition to (FILL IN YOUR FAVORITE TOPIC HERE)!“
If we wake up, take a shot. Make our voices heard. We will likely be falsely accused or identified by the bullies who merely disagree with you. But, as the good book says, you will be blessed. Because when you stand up against rulers and powers that do wrong, you exercise your free will and you flex your democracy.
I used to believe that if you only get one say every 4 years. Nah, I am telling you, there are 1460 days between 4 year elections to make your voice heard. You don’t have to settle for less. You also don’t have to spend a lot of time or get “dirty” or in a fight to make a difference.
