For We the People

SnailMailPatriot.com is a marketplace that facilitates civic engagement for We the People. We partner with organizations that champion various social and political causes through engagement services on our site (i.e. physical letter campaigns). These organizations target specific audiences who can make a significant impact. We aim to amplify the voices of concerned citizens, ensuring shared values and concerns are voiced and heard.

Our founder is Canadian, and created this service because his N.D.P. Member of Parliament blocked his email addresses when confronting him (respectfully) by email about the poor choices his party is making in supporting the Canadian Federal Liberal parties.

In my opinion, that’s effectively the same as taxation without representation. Fundamentally, that’s what the Magna Carta was all about… Unfair and unjust laws resulting in a legal need to separate powers of the ruling class from the general public.

So, he had to resort to writing letters by mail.   But, that totally sucks.   It’s such a pain and takes a LOT time to actually make that happen.  It creates a barrier to democracy that is unfair and he want a simple way to send messages to engage in civil engagement more frequently and more often.

It seems like it’s a daily event that the Federal NDP or Liberals are making this country worse. There are so may things they need to hear from their constituents.

Kinda hard to hear what your constituents are saying if you block them, isn’t it?

This is for anyone living in the United States or Canada and who wants to get their voice heard.

That being said, we exist because the political left (and associated left leaning “legacy news media” and social media) are routinely cancelling, blocking and otherwise minimizing conservative voices.

This is a service is by and for (small c) conservative leaning people.

Most campaigns are set to $ 2.97 USD per letter, plus taxes. That INCLUDES postage.

We expanded operations into the US.  Being the bigger market we needed to accommodate for that.

What that basically means is much of our costs are in USD now so we have switched to pricing everything in USD only for now.

It will be easier to manage that when we launch our mobile app which will make it easier to pay in CAD or USD as your choice.

This service is about half way between the price of a XL Double-Double or a Venti Latte.

First off, this is a business. So, I am working at building a service that operates at scale. I’m not trying to get rich on this, but I need to cover the cost of high volume printers and letter stuffing machines and my time (and time of staff if this grows to that point). Need to charge to cover those costs.

“But it’s free to send mail to an MP.” As I said in the last answer, this is a business. It is free for YOU to send your MP a letter, and I would fully encourage you to do that 100%.  Go for it.  Once you do that a few times (or even worse, you will stop because it takes time and you still pay a buck for a stamp).

This is a service of convenience, not necessity, and you can always write your own letter and send it for free if you want.

If you go to the post office and send one letter, they won’t care. But when we show up with hundreds to thousands of letters a day, they are not always happy campers. (Your government tax money at work.)

If you want the convenience of having most of the work done for you with the click of a few buttons, then that’s where SnailMailPatriot.com can help save you time and get your voice heard faster. And, yes, that costs money.

Sorry, not sorry, but we need to recover costs and there’s nothing wrong with offering a free-enterprise solution that saves people time and adds a lot of value. Printers, folder inserters, servers, toner and my time aren’t free.

Here’s the thing. If you go send an email to literally any organization out there today, government or a business, you will wait days, weeks or forever to get a reply. Why? Because they can just ignore your emails.

Or, in the case of our founder, they might just block you if they don’t like what you have to say!

A physical piece of mail is tactile. They get to feel it in their hand. That changes their perception of you. That forms a physical and mental connection in their human experience.

In some jurisdictions, it is required by law for civil servants to respond to all physical mail correspondence.   In those cases, they are required to itemize and catalog those physical letters in a filing system.  That means they have to stop and do work to handle your message.   The rules and policies haven’t been as strong on emails, and in many cases they could just block or delete your email and play the “we thought it was spam” card.

Think about it like this… picture yourself walking into a store and standing in line at customer service, they HAVE to deal with you. They can’t just ignore you. They can’t just click a mouse button and you disappear.

If you send a physical piece of mail (compared to an email), there is a far greater chance that your message will get heard and that you will actually get a response WAY faster!

It’s harder for your elected representatives to ignore a stack of mail on their desk than an inbox they can just “select all” and click “block” which takes seconds. So the answer is to make it just as easy to send letters as it is for them to block your email. Mouse clicks, not stamp licks.

Then, there’s the power of community. If you are mad about a particular topic, and 10,000 of your fellow citizens are also mad about that, and also send a physical letter, you can guarantee you will make a difference! Guaranteed they can’t ignore 10,000 pieces of mail!

Kinda, sorta.

The best part about this service is you don’t actually have to write the letter.

Because we’re conservative-leaning, we are expecting the left to try to cancel us and de-platform us. We don’t want to give them easy opportunities to abuse our service especially since we’re getting started.

Most campaigns are pre-templated for you so you don’t have to lift a finger. Others are setup for you to enter a small handful of describing words to describe your point of view and your sentiments about the topic of the campaign. From there, we take care of everything with our campaign engine. We take it from there and build a unique-to-you letter that is crafted from your inputs through our generation engine.

We take care of everything for you! How easy is that?

We have the same goals you have: We want change from our elected representatives. We want businesses we have grown to love and cherish to hear that we are not happy with their decisions that affect our way of life.

To do that, it serves no purpose to just make the recipients mad and give them reasons to just discard our messages because of how we say what we want. If we deal with the facts and try to leave our emotions out of things, we can be far more convincing as a collective voice.

And, even then, they may block or try to cancel you and your voice. So, our mission is to give you a new platform for your voice if you already lost it by email or simply want to get your voice heard in a chorus of like-minded voices, at scale.

Possibly you have more money than time and want to send a letter to all Congressmen, MPs and Senators with the ease of a few mouse clicks.

Well, that’s where we come in! You can do that here, and not spend hours of your time writing, printing, stuffing envelopes, licking stamps and driving to the post office.

First, we are taking measures to protect your data and that includes various forms of encryption and cybersecurity protections from various vendors to get that job done well.

For credit card information, we don’t even keep a copy of that, we use payment providers to capture your information and they keep a copy of that and we don’t get your credit card or CVV number.

We do get to see the last 4 digits of your credit card number, which is helpful from a customer support perspective to troubleshoot payment issues.  But, all the other numbers are ****’d out.

In addition to that, for all our backend systems, we are also using state of the art enterprise grade technologies in the backend and in the programming which all provide layers of protection, such as database level and storage level encryption that keep the data at rest and in motion protected from prying eyes.

We also have a privacy policy at https://www.SnailMailPatriot.com/privacy-policy

We want you to be happy.

Our responsibility: To ensure the correct addresses are used for each recipient you select.  We base that on the official websites for the organisation we are sending to (Parliament, Senate, Congress, Companies, etc.). If they haven’t updated their addresses on their webpages, that’s not our fault.

Your responsibility:  It is your responsibility is to pick the right recipient. If you pick the wrong recipient, that’s on you.

We print the letters that show your return address so that if there is a problem with the mail system, and they return it to you, Canada Post and USPS knows your address (the billing address on your account in our system).

If the letter we sent is returned to your address by Canada Post or USPS, you can our support team in our portal and we will credit your account for a replacement letter.

This covers reasons due to: wrong address (if we had the wrong address in our database), if they claim insufficient postage (sometimes we need to use stamps if postal meters fritz out), if it was damaged (not our fault if USPS/Canada Post mangled it, but we’ll gladly cover you).

Simply navigate through our site, and add the letters to your cart. Fill in any extra questions if asked for them, make your payment, and you’re done. Easy.

All payments are made in USD.

We accept all major credit cards. Payments are processed through Stripe.com. We do not store your credit card information.

Depending on how busy we are, it can take 1-2 week days between the time of your purchase, and when we can print your letter and mail it.  If it has not gone into our daily print queue, we can probably cancel it, notify us as early as possible to prevent any disappointments.

You will get a first email that indicates your payment is collected.

You will get another email when your order is being fulfilled.  Once you get this email you can no longer cancel the letter.

Campaigns may go on sale on our site before a launch date set by the campaign organizer who we have partnered with. They will be identified as “Pre Sale”, and there will be a clear indication of when the campaign launches.

We are growing and likely will make mistakes. So, please be patient, but our goal is to have enough capacity to ensure that nobody’s letter is waiting to be processed for more than a few week days after the date you place an order for a launched campaign. One of us may come in on a weekend to try and get more processed over the weekend or on a holiday, but that’s no guarantee. We like time off too. :-)

No. Not looking for new ways to grow a business venture only to be cancelled by the left. Think of us as “self-cancelled”. 😊

Is our paper recycled? Don’t know. Don’t care.

Is our toner e-friendly? Don’t know. Don’t care.

We use what is cost effective. That way we are spending less on carbon taxes. Because that’s what the carbon tax is for… to incentivize spending less so that you pay less tax and therefore less harmful for the environment.  So, now the Earth is cooler because of us.  You’re welcome.   (Yes. That is heavy sarcasm.).

Don’t like carbon taxes? Write a letter to your government and complain.

Also, the car we drive these letters to the post office with takes premium unleaded gasoline. It also takes 5W30 synthetic oil in the motor. we also drive on asphalt roads that are made with bitumen. Sometimes we let the car idle for a few minutes, especially when stopped at traffic-controlled intersections. The vehicle has a lot of plastic parts made with petroleum and is equipped with synthetic rubber tires also made from petroleum.

For Campaign Partners

As a Campaign Partner, you are a champion of one or more social or political topics.  You want people to write to named recipients that you specify.

Our mission is to bridge engagement between We the People, users of our site, and your topics.

You start by applying to be a partner on our site.   We review your background to ensure we are a good fit in conservative values and beliefs.   If we are a match, we will approve you and create a Partner account on our site.   There is a fee to cover our costs of the review of your organization.  If you are approved, we will apply that as an on-site credit on our platform.

Once approved, your new Partner account will allow you to create one or more campaigns.

People will put your letter campaigns in their cart on our site, pay for them, and we will print and mail letters.   Pretty much, a whole lot of awesomeness.

Our platform is setup to move through a series of steps along your journey with us:

Onboarding:

  • You: Application.  Pay our review fee.
  • Us:  Review.   Results in either a decline or an invitation.
  • You:  Accept Invitation.  All you! :-)
  • Us: Enrollment.  We set you up with an account in our website and in our backend proprietary letter production system, and apply your review fee as a credit.

Campaign Creation:

  • You: Order a campaign on our site.
  • Us: Create draft campaign.
  • You: Approve go-live of campaign.
  • Us: Enable campaign on our public website.

Sneak preview: We have a prototype self-service portal that will make the campaign creation and tweaking even more easy for you to handle with more control at your fingertips.   That portal will also include real-time analytics on your campaign performance.

Campaign Marketing:

Creating the campaign is only the first step.  Now, we need to get the word out.

  • You:
    • Tell your people in your newsletter.
    • Add a post on your social medias.
    • Add a blog post on your website.
    • Encourage social sharing.
  • Us:
    • We use a few ad networks to promote content on our site.   We will create marketing campaigns that will generate traffic to our website so that we have a market for you to sell to on our platform.  We generally don’t promote individual campaigns through these channels.
    • We will buy space on partner and non-partner websites to promote campaigns (in a general sense) such as on blogs, independent news, independent social media influencers and content creators, and other means that we are exploring.
    • We will highlight and promote individual campaigns on our own site through various features and capabilities.
    • We will conduct SEO optimization to our site so that more traffic hits your campaign page(s).

As a concerned citizen, members of the general public can see our

Campaigns include three core ingredients:

  1. Your topic.   Whatever your topic is we will craft a short and long description on our site so that we can build a unique landing page just for your campaign.  Highly sharable and ready to go viral!
  2. Recipients.  You provide to us the first and last names of the individuals to whom you want people to be sending letters to.  While we have no formal limit, it can be daunting for a user if there’s more than 5 or 6 selections.   We will require an official website URL for each of the individuals you provide so that we can confirm the official mailing address with a corroborating site.
  3. Your input on the letter concept/template.  Each letter we send is uniquely generated, customized for the end customer.   This would be a paragraph or two that would be a summary of what the main point of your topic is, what you want We the People to discuss, and what call to action you would hope to see as a successful outcome to the campaign.

Please do note, we review each and every campaign.  We may not approve all your campaigns.  We may nix it before or after going live.   We may just recommend changes, but we promise to explain why and keep you informed even if you disagree with our perspective.

Please understand the main reason for that is not about you.  We really don’t want to be meddling in freedom of speech.  However, we are hyper-vigilant on managing risks of being de-platformed, because that’s how the left likes to attack conservatives.  We are trying to push the envelope without being cancelled.

The following are guidelines, and are subject to change, and likely to be unevenly applied.  It’s an art, not a science.

We are advising our Campaign Partners about the following principles by which we will accept recipients on a letter campaign as being valid:

  • Safety and Legal first.  We will not knowingly break any laws, nor put our partners nor customers nor any member of the public in harms way.  We have a zero-tolerance policy on threats of physical harm, attacks, or inciting others to do the same or break any laws.  We will report to law enforcement any activities that fit into the areas of abuse of our systems, safety or legal issues.
  • Recipients MUST be PUBLIC.  All elected representatives are allowed.  For public servants, business and not-for profits, it should be clear and obvious that the role of the individual would be to respond to members of the public, and be authorized to respond to outside communications from the public, as a normal part of their assigned duties.   This is subjective, but at our discretion.
  • Recipients MUST be SENIOR level.  In the case of public servants, not-for-profit or businesses, the named individuals must be manager or higher in the organization, which is a guideline.   If it is a larger business, we would expect an chairman, directors, C-level, VP, GM, or other senior corporate or location manager as an acceptable person.  For a smaller organization, which has less layers of management, we would be more inclined to narrow that to an owner, director, CEO, GM, etc., but less likely to allow a mid-level manager.

For Campaign Partners, there are a few costs that we charge to get your campaigns rolling in full steam.

  1. There is an onboarding fee of $297 USD to cover the review process.
  2. Then, for each campaign, there is an campaign creation fee of $ 97 USD to cover our manual efforts to create a campaign.  (We are working hard to create a self-service portal that will eliminate this fee.)
  3. Lastly, for about the cost of a cup of coffee, customers pay a nominal fee of $2.97 USD.  From that amount, you earn a small referral fee as a commission .

So, in addition to making a significant difference in the the world we live, you also have a new revenue generating service, which is super handy at a time when it’s difficult to raise funds.

It’s a win-win-win-win situation for your organization, your cause, our customers, and for us.
